New Developments from Mx Weighers

Following the successful launch of the Mx5000 vehicle weighing system 18 months ago, Mx have introduced a number of options to enhance their range.

First was the Hand Held Remote, which has proved very popular with drivers operating in the aggregates and grain industries. Using blue tooth technology this feature enables the driver to identify loads from the safety of his cab or to monitor weights whilst loading via a shovel or elevator. Next came the In-Cab Display which gives drivers of rigid vehicles weight displays at their fingertips and is also available with hand held remote control units.

More recently they have introduced the on board inclinometer, which will give the driver confidence when tipping in potentially hazardous areas such as quarries and demolition sites. With Health and Safety at the forefront of all haulage and tipping operations, this option helps safeguard the driver, operator and site personnel against avoidable accidents. Also, developed in conjunction with one of Fruehauf’s customers, is the Intelligent Junction Box system. All calibration data is stored on the trailer, whilst the in cab display provides all the diagnostics and calibration functions. This enables all tractors and trailers fitted with the system to be interchanged at will, without the need to recalibrate. All sensitive loadcell voltages are restricted to the trailer and are not passed through the suzi cables, thus avoiding calibration issues caused by water ingress.

The Mx5000 is now available for hire based on a weekly rental which varies according to length of contract. This is particularly useful for owner drivers not wishing to tie up unnecessary capital, especially in a start up situation.
