2007 Shows are Best Yet

The 2007 Show season was Fruehauf’s most successful yet with orders totalling a magnificent 83 trailers and rigid bodies from the CV Show and Tip-Ex. This was nearly double the previous year’s record, and virtually assures the company of record sales for the year.

Fruehauf were the only tipper trailer manufacturer to exhibit at the CV Show, which probably affected the attendance of tipper operators at what should be the UK haulage industry’s main showcase exhibition. However, by using this Show to launch two new products, a steel rigid body and a 65 cu yd Sloping Smoothsider, a steady stream of interested operators visited their stand throughout the 3 days of the exhibition.

In contrast, the eagerly awaited return of a specialist tipper show at Harrogate, Tip-Ex07, saw most of the tipper manufacturers exhibit their products to tipper operators from far and wide. As well as the 2 new products, Fruehauf showed a 42 cu yd insulated bathtub, a standard bathtub, and an aluminium body mounted on a DAF rigid.

Fruehauf ensured that its customers enjoyed their return to Harrogate, providing hospitality at the nearby Majestic Hotel each lunch time, and taking 6 tables at the Friday night Gala Dinner. Both their inside and outstand stands were amongst the most popular at the Show, including a noticeably strong Irish and Scottish contingent. Of particular interest to the visitors was the Sloper, with strong enquiries and several orders taken over the 3 days of the exhibition.

MD Stuart Ritchie said “It’s often difficult to justify the cost of attending Shows on sales alone, so we regard them as a way of saying ‘thank you’ to our customers. However this year the investment has been more than repaid by the orders taken on the stand, which is a real bonus. We can’t wait for the 2008 Show season to start!”
